CopWare End User License Agreement

Effective Date: August 19, 2026


1. Introduction

This End User License Agreement (“EULA”) is a legal agreement between you (“User”) and CopWare, Inc. (“CopWare”) for the use of CopWare software applications, including desktop, web, and mobile applications (“Software”).

By installing, copying, or using the Software, you agree to be bound by the terms of this EULA. If you do not agree, do not install or use the Software.


2. Relationship to Site License Agreement

If you are accessing the Software as an Authorized User under your agency’s Site License Agreement with CopWare, this EULA governs your individual use of the Software. The Site License Agreement governs the agency’s subscription and commercial relationship.

In the event of a conflict, the Site License Agreement controls.


3. License Grant

Subject to the terms of this EULA and any applicable Site License Agreement, CopWare grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to:

  • Install and use the Software on devices you own or control
  • Access CopWare Products through the Software for your internal and official purposes

This license is personal to you and may not be shared, sublicensed, or transferred.


4. License Restrictions

You may not:

  • Copy, modify, or distribute the Software except as expressly permitted
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, or attempt to derive source code from the Software
  • Remove, alter, or obscure any copyright, trademark, or proprietary notices
  • Use the Software for any unlawful purpose
  • Share your login credentials or allow others to access the Software using your account
  • Circumvent any technical measures designed to control access to the Software
  • Use automated tools to scrape, extract, or systematically download content

5. Intellectual Property

The Software and all associated intellectual property rights are owned by CopWare or its licensors. This EULA does not grant you any ownership rights in the Software.

CPOLS content is provided under authorization from the California Department of Justice. California statutory codes are reproduced for reference purposes.


6. Updates and Modifications

CopWare may provide updates, patches, or new versions of the Software from time to time. Such updates may be required for continued use. This EULA applies to all updates unless a separate license is provided.

CopWare may modify, suspend, or discontinue features of the Software with or without notice.


7. Data Collection

The Software may collect usage data as described in our Privacy Policy, available at copware.com. By using the Software, you consent to such data collection.


8. No Legal Advice

The Software provides access to legal reference content for informational purposes only. CopWare does not provide legal advice. You are responsible for how you use the content in operational or legal decision-making.


9. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SOFTWARE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT.

COPWARE DOES NOT WARRANT THAT THE SOFTWARE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR FREE OF HARMFUL COMPONENTS.


10. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, COPWARE SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SOFTWARE.

IN NO EVENT SHALL COPWARE’S TOTAL LIABILITY EXCEED THE FEES PAID BY YOU OR YOUR AGENCY DURING THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM.


11. Termination

This EULA is effective until terminated. Your rights under this EULA terminate automatically if:

  • You violate any term of this EULA
  • Your agency’s Site License Agreement terminates or expires
  • Your status as an Authorized User ends

Upon termination, you must cease using the Software and delete all copies in your possession.


12. Export Compliance

You agree to comply with all applicable export and import laws and regulations.


13. Governing Law

This EULA is governed by the laws of the State of California. Any dispute shall be resolved in the state or federal courts located in California.


14. Severability

If any provision is held unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in full force and effect.


15. Entire Agreement

This EULA, together with any applicable Site License Agreement, Terms of Service, and Privacy Policy, constitutes the entire agreement regarding your use of the Software.
